== TOR proxies ==

I understand that you have been converting hard blocks on TOR proxies into soft blocks. I'd like to urge you not to do so. The problem is that pretty much all the long-term vandals know about using TOR to continue editing. They are able to use these proxies to continue their abusive sockpuppeteering. Many end up being blocked as the result of checkuser requests. I freely admit that there is no firm consensus one way or another. However, I am involved with tracking down and blocking a few long-term vandals and so I fall firmly in the hard-block-TOR-proxies camp. I am not trying to dictate to you here; if you disagree, I'd love to briefly discuss. --[[User:Yamla|Yamla]] 20:57, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Reason: The reason I, andrewlim1 or louielim2007 give you this barnstar is because you help me clean up my userpage or block users when someone attacked my page or account, nice job, keep going.>andrewlim1 13:45, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, the IP ranges used by this person are 83.148.0.0/18 and 84.244.64.0/18. Your previous CheckUser requests indicated little or no legitimate activity in these ranges, so the next time this person strikes, simply block these IPs for a week at a time, extending if necessary. I don't agree with your decision to delete the article on extreme card manipulation and replace it with a redirect to card manipulation

I wrote the article on extreme card manipulation and was disappointed to find that it had been deleted. So far the only reason I can see is that the person who deleted it is under the impression that extreme card manipulation is exactly the same as plain old card manipulation. This is not the case. In fact, strictly speaking, card manipulation should only really be used to refer to the vanishing and reproduction of playing cards, whereas extreme card manipulation is stunts and flourishes - they are not the same. I do not agree that my article on a specialist field of playing card flourishes should have been replaced with a redirect taking you to an article about something that is, essentially, completely different. Vandal

I have been accused of being a vandal on User:LUCPOL/Vandal:R9tgokunks due to past editing disputes with yourself, or other being involved in ways with yourself. Since you have been mentioned, i'd like to ask if you could please comment on the mentioned report, Thanks much. -- Hrödberäht (gespräch) 15:12, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Twat

Please do not re-add an inappropriate image to the article after it has been rightfully removed as vandalism (its caption makes it clear that it's meant as an attack on its subject), and don't issue warnings to other users for following policy (vandalism and attacks can be removed by anybody). Your contributions make me doubt that you intend to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 09:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me, no. Hang on a minute. Only one editor was removing that image, and it was an anonymous editor whose only contributions were to remove that image. Don't have a go at me for suspecting it was content removing vandalism. I'm sorry if the image was genuinely not supposed to be there, but it's settled now, so no harm done. Thankyou. A few additional notes about the Czech vandal

There's one (blocked) account that you apparently never listed: Petr.adameк (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) (which, by the way, is an impostor of Petr.adamek (talk · contribs)); Also, the account Ignácek Pospíšil (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) appears to be listed twice. He also targets Portal:African American/Intro with the same kind of vandalism as he does with Mumia Abu-Jamal. Scobell302 18:54, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, your most recent update appeared to erase two accounts from the list which you had just added: Kohout český červený (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and Kokrháč (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) Scobell302 18:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the deletion of Arnesia

Sorry but to be honest, there are a LOT of things on wikipedia that are jokes and things that only make sense to certain people. Besides, what's the harm in letting me post something that NO one is ever going to look up? it doesn't exist. I don't get it.

An encyclopedia, encyclopaedia or (traditionally) encyclopædia,[1] is a comprehensive written compendium that contains information on all branches of knowledge or a particular branch of knowledge.

By your own admission, wikipedia is an encyclopedia. I agree. However, knowledge isn't what one person or even a group of people define it to be, but what we all know and ideas we share. I share my ideas with others and therefore it has validity as knowledge of a sort. To say that my article is "nonsense" is to dismiss the ideas of several people. See now, this come down to the principles for me. We see words from TV shows like "doh" get into a dictionary yet a culture of our own can not be accepted as logical? What if I were to say that "Arnesia is a fictionary land made up by children from Debate Camp and the rest from here on in is the creation"? Is that acceptable? I don't understand the logic.

Thank you for being so overly kind and understanding of things that you obviously don't understand. I'm SO glad that you did! If you haven't noticed, that's sarcasm. I'm sick of being polite with you when you can't even return the same curtesy. Is it impossible for you to have a frank discussion and not be rude? I would really appreciate an apology. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, think about what you said. It's unfortunate that I'm not the only one who has to deal with this. Livinontop13 05:03, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Canon EOS Rebel K2

Mike Rosoft,

I, the creator of an valid article entitle "Canon EOS Rebel K2," would like to know why this page was deleted. I understand that the information a specific user edited it with seemed rather on the advertising side than a factual article that it should be, but rather than deleting it for reasons of "Blatant spam", you may have suggested that it be edited to become more factual, as one user has done. The fact that you delete it rather than doing this infuriates me. But the damage is done, and all I can do is ask that if I were to recreate this article and rewrite the information to become more factual, would it be deleted because of previous information? I will act based on the reply of this comment.

Need help!

Can you please look at this? I've been learning about Wikipedia a great deal and thank you for your earlier help, but user:Bastique continues to attack and say false things about me, and this is causing me great concern. One Elephant went out to play... 17:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving Wikipedia

Regarding Allegations of Israeli Apartheid and earlier items with MiddleEastern/Okedem, I feel sorry I stepped in now. User:Slimvirgin has used it as an excuse to make false accusations that I am someone I not, apparently because I reported her abusive friend user:Bastique for his attacks upon me.

I'm quitting Wikipedia, there's no point in remaining if this is how administrators behave. I'm sorry that my earlier view of administrators as helpful individuals turned out to be a disgustingly poor misjudgement, and most of them are abusive jerks like Slimvirgin, Bastique, and Jersey Devil. One Elephant went out to play... 19:20, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, the admin Crum375 removed my earlier call for help from your talk page. I wonder how many other abusive "friends" you have around here.

It was nice of you to leave me a message, but the facts are plain, and I left a friendly worded note originally. I didn't at the time even know of the WP:OFFICE policy or who "Danny" account was, I thought it was just another user. Now, I'm being hounded and harassed and attacked constantly, and the abusive Bastique has recruited equally abusive admins to go after me, using as "evidence" the fact that I saw and noted on another page also mentioned at the admins noticeboard to accuse me of being someone I'm not. This is ridiculous, and the sort of thing I didn't think was supposed to go on. In short, it's a damn witch hunt, and I'm the accused witch. I'm not going to stick around, because I know how this ends, with the crazy psychos getting out their torches and pitchforks and my head on a spit on top of a campfire. I consider this a pretty good indication Wikipedia's not worth contributing to. One Elephant went out to play... 19:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's nice that you continue to message, but really, I have seen enough. Slimvirgin is deliberately lying about me and making false accusations that I'm someone I'm not, and the only reasoning I can see for this is either that he/she has some contact with that page, or else that he/she just has an axe to grind. Regardless, I've no desire to stick around and be the latest trophy for some abusive individual. Since it's obvious that all they are going to do is attacking me, consider Wikipedia shortened by one contributor who would have been very happy to improve the encyclopedia because your "friends" the administrators are a bunch of abusive jerks, and that's that. One Elephant went out to play... 19:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unjustified tags/deletions (Amaf)

Please refrain from deleting the amaf images, it is a well known group which HAS significance. We are not given enough time to complete page/add references to replays/add links to site etc. Please see to it that we have enough time to complete our images/page before accusing us of wasting space. Notability

Yes the article has been recreated, and deleted. Apparently because it is not 'notable'. I shall defend that with the following. The wikipedia page on notability states "Notable is defined as "worthy of being noted"[1][2] or "attracting notice".[3]" Now 'worthy of being noted' is clearly subjective, and in my view the clan is being prejudiced against for being associated with computer gaming. I feel that any computer gaming group is worthy of being noted. We have a large member base, nearly 100 students represent us in clan and inter college games. The clan HAS been featured in several external sources, namely news sources such as our uni's newsletter, clan rankings etc. These are NOT trivial sources, but are rather valued very highly for amaf. These would have been linked to, had the mods not had a nervous twitch on the 'delete' button. In addition to this, the amaf site was NOT a promotion/personal website, rather it was simply a wikipedia entry which every large group seems to have in recent years. We have our own webpage, and would never use wikipedia for personal promotion. Even if it were a promotion, wikipedia is not a 'paper database', the amaf page is merely addding a couple of bytes of data to wikipedia's abundant supply. And the article was certainly NOT vandalism, as such it is not clear why a so called 'Anti Vandalism Unit' would have anything to do with our entry. If you would be so kind as to reinstate our page, we would be obliged to link to our sources.

Regards, Minority Racer

I was browsing recent edits, and I noticed the edit summary for Seven Samurai. I went to the page to revert it, found you had already done it and warned user IP 74.38.189.10, and moved on. Later I saw their IP address again, and checked. I noticed you gave them a final warning, and I wanted to tell you that they had modified the page again. I just thought I'd tell you. They are currently vandalasing other articles, or so it says in their contribution section. I didn't know what I should do, so I decided telling you was best.

Re: Sports Trainer page

Mike, Firstly i do not appreciate you redirecting the sports trainer page to athletic trainer without evening discussing the idea. Secondly there are several and multiple differences between the two occupations and having the same article just does not cut it in my opinion. The article was originally created and then deleted (only deleted because it was created by a banned user), and before that several users had an indepth and detailed discussion about merging the two pages and because of all the differences the decision not to merge was made, how dare you not even discuss it and just go ahead and change it straight away. Just because you are an administrator does not give you the right to do that. I put a lot of time and effort into creating that page and for you to just redirect without even discussing it is very upsetting. I will be changing the page back to how it was if you want to discuss the possibility of merging the two article then please do so, but do not redirect without even discussing it. Repeated vandalism

A few of us are having trouble keeping the Everton FC page (and it's asociated pages) free of mischief and vandalism...how do you go about locking it so that new & unregistered users can't add their garbage to it? It's getting dull removed abuse every morning.

I thought there was no harm in allowing the joke to go through; it's the April Fool's day, after all. - Mike Rosoft 10:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
While this certainly isn't on the level of article vandalism, I don't believe that a particular date on the calendar gives users the right to treat Wikipedia as a humor website. I try not to step on too many toes, but I see no reason not to nip these things in the bud when they're caught at that stage. Certainly, there's no need to tolerate prank pages that are re-created after sysops delete them. Just think of the resources that are wasted dealing with this nonsense every year. —David Levy 10:33, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is it just me, or does tht sound like not bothering to buy a Christmas tree or have peole ove for gft-giving because the needes are such a hassle after the tree sheds, or all those people are sure to give you the lu and what a mess indeed wuld be created by all that wasted wrapping paper and rampant cnsumerism. Bely aughter might be conidered a waste of breath
Out of 365 days, there should be one where levity can be allowed to have its place. As a wise old Vulcan said, "the more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play". Big brains play here. Surely we can tlerate stuff made by said minds who spend the remainder of those 364 days working without pay to make this an interesting place to visit? Arcayne 14:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm Jewish. Like Christmas, April Fools' Day is not a universal observance (but this is a worldwide website). We wouldn't tolerate such tomfoolery on December 28, so why should we tolerate it (let alone condone or encourage it) today?
Some people have the unmitigated audacity to actually attempt to use the encyclopedia today. Those who prefer nonsense can look elsewhere. —David Levy 17:06, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the reason that it is April Fool;s Day, and not Christmas, Passover or Respect for the Aged Day (Japan, Sep 19) and that the day is specifically known for practical jokes, and not introducing 7-foot flora into the living room. We don't have to add nonsense, but certainly we can let our hair down. We aren't Conservapedia (where, apparently, no one can edit). Arcayne 19:26, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Again, this is a worldwide website, and April Fools' Day is not a worldwide observance. We don't tolerate such pranks on the Day of the Holy Innocents (the aforementioned December 28), so why should we tolerate them on April 1? —David Levy 19:44, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Jan Zajic

The problem is that fair use is no longer accepted for newly uploaded images (but I am not sure with this). Jan Zajic was not publicly known before his act and thus there are very few photos of him, this should be the only one that can be obtained. He became famous after his suicide (self-immolation). I think that picture was created on order by some small photographic studio (as was usual in these times) by him or his family or it is a part of picture taken from school almanac (public domain). It is impossible to find the author, create new picture or find a replacement. If you know how to write a fair-use that would be accepted please feel free to do it, it would be a pitty loose this picture. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 13:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When rejecting an article, please use the {{afc t}} and {{afc b}} templates, or just delete the entry altogether if it's vandalism. The instructions for this are at the top of WP:AFC. Patstuarttalk·edits 16:15, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did remove the two entries altogether, and posted notices to that extent; one of them was an advertisement, the other patent nonsense. If I should have handled the case differently, I'll be glad to learn. - Mike Rosoft 16:18, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only things that should be removed are copyvios, personal attacks, or patent nonsense. Otherwise, it's best to keep the text, and use the templates: see Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Templates. Patstuarttalk·edits 16:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And if I remove an entry, should I do as I did previously, or should I remove it altogether, even with the heading? - Mike Rosoft 16:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If it's a copyvio, keep the heading, and use the templates to decline. Otherwise, you can do it either way; I just remove the whole thing; I see no point in feeding the trolls. Patstuarttalk·edits 16:26, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The notice at the top of the article says: "Please improve the article if possible, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed." Unwarned IP

Hi, you have blocked this IP address, without any warnings to stop. If the IP is a sockpuppet, shares a network that has abused Wikipedia, or engaged in extreme cases of abuse, an example being defamatory edits, but if the only reason if vandalism, which I've looked at the edit, I think the IP should be warned at least once, maybe with the {{bv}}. There has been times when just one edit of vandalism, would cause a block just like that, such as the edit that Billynoors has made to Martin Luther King, Jr., but in this case, it just looks like random nonsence that a page was replaced with, and I was told that warnings were nessesary before blocking, with a minimal exceptions, as well as the importance of assuming good faith. I do think that vandalism is unacceptable, and partake in reverting it, and warning users to stop. Please don't take offense if you disagree with this perspective. I'm not saying that you were right or wrong about this, just what I think what may be a good idea.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 20:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would recommend unblocking the user, and let give a warning that if she/he continues, they will be reblocked. Good luck in your vandal-reverting.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 20:41, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Spoon

Could you explain your wanting to remove the material on manufacturing in the spoon article. It's crude, but the editor is a newby, and I think his intentions are good. And it seems like a valid topic. He also added a mote spoon as a kind of spoon. I had never heard of one, but I googled it, and it's a real thing. Just saw a very nice antique one for sale on eBay. So I put his stuff back in. Do you agree? Thanks. SDC 06:49, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have a point. But I would also find it interesting to know how spoons are manufactured, both by machine and by hand. But the process of making spoons by hand isn't really any different than any other silversmithing techniques and could probably be covered there. On second look at the stuff, it would probably go better there. And it is very, very rough. So I'd take it out of the spoon article. But the mention of the mote spoon seems legit. That's what I think the guy had good intentions and was not spamming. SDC 09:39, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No one has done so therefore I am not granting the right for my name, likeness, tradename and marks to be used without my permission. Once again which permission is not being granted.

Other companies have properly and legally sought and paid for the right to publish the information they have about me on their web pages. Photo upload problems

Again thanks for your help with regards to the upload problems I've encounterd. Go to Duplicate images uploaded. [5]

I believe this to be the cause for uploading blanks. For future reference.

The problem I have encountered is that while the image loads up quite normally, the photo will not display in the browser. “Second upload attempts” have failed too. I have finally figured out this problem. I usually resize an image before upload in Photoshop, and have on occasion not ensured that the saved image is in RGB format. Images that I’ve attempted to upload that are in CMYK have all rebounded and not displayed in my browser. The bottom line is, Wikipedia software will process only RGB colour and when I’ve reloaded dud images back into RGB they have uploaded successfully. Mombas 11:43, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ACE

Please be aware that your drive-by-edit of the article on Accelerated Christian Education - particularly in light of the fact that it was done so to obscure just how strongly in agreement the overwhelming majority of third party researchers are in their findings regarding the value of ACE as an education system is going to force me to take the issue up for arbitration. Wikipedia is not the place for you to be pushing your POV. The core policies are quite clear on that. It is not the place to remove sourced content from reliable sources simply because you don't like what they have to say. I find no justification for your drive-by-edit.-198.97.67.57 15:39, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Dopplereffekt

  • Dopplereffekt satisfies rule 5 for ensemble notability as they have released 2 cds (GIGOLO 32 and GIGOLO 99), 2 12" and 1 10" on International Deejay Gigolo Records and one of these cds has subsequently been released on Clone.
  • They have an article in the book A Rough Guide to Techno.
  • It contains one of the members of Drexciya (Rule 6)
  • Is listed in Detroit Techno as a prominent producer (Weak Rule 7 - I know he is prominent but very hard to show this is the case as no one has made a list of the most prominent people in techno)

I have been creating pages for Gerald Donalds major projects, he is a member of Drexciya and one of the most prominent Detroit Techno producers alive at the moment. I would put them all on the same page but felty that it would be cluttered, and it would be better to create seperate pages for the major groups he was in. - - Curious GregorTALK 11:41, 21 May 2007 (UTC) (sorry forgot this first time)[reply]

Rex gilroy deletion

Hi Mike, I can't remember where I know your name from, my interest are diverse. Hello again, if we've met before, I hope you won't mind my opinion being foisted upon you. Anyway, can you tidy up the above process, I believe that I have resolved the issue you addressed by creating Rex Gilroy. Would you mind removing the warning notice (and page?) and perhaps encouraging the editor to keep contributing. I am a little concerned about the tendency for new users to be bombed with policy during their (stumbling) efforts to join our community. I am not suggesting you were uncivil, your actions were warranted. However, from the users point of view, being slapped with a copyvio notice might permanently dissuade the user from further contributions. The second users comments on the new users page were a little brusque, chastising users is less effective than demonstrating good practice, IMO. Thanks for your time. Hey man, I understand why you put it under the criteria for speedy deletion, however if you would have read the history, you would see that I tagged: "Initial edit, needs a lot of work" If you want to help me create this article it would be great, expecially since your skills at Wikipedia are much better than mine, it would be a learning experience for me. Thank you --TANK 20:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Could you please advise why this article isn't a speedy so I don't do the same again in future? As far as I can read the article, no effort has been made to show what is notable about this particular road. I shouldn't have to be an american to see why this road is notable. Lack of knowledge of the subject

Hi Mike

I was disappointed that you were so quick to delete my article on Freedom 2b(e)

There seems to be a double standard in Wikipedia when it comes to so called notable subjects . "The article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content".

In fact Freedom 2b(e) is not a club or a website (although it has a website) but a network that supports gay people who are having issues reconciling their faith and sexuality . Wikipedia has pages on many European and American groups including Soulforce and Integrity and they didn't get their pages deleted . I admit they are far more detailed pages but this is a new network

The only diffence here is that Freedom 2b(e) is an new Australian network - and the subject is significant because its the only network in the world that specifically deals with people from Pentecostal backgrounds - in that sense its a world first . That is why I wanted to write about it . Is a subject less notable because its Australian ?

frollus)

Thanks Mike

I do appreciate that you at least tried to consider my request and restored the article . Unfortunately another over zealous editor got to it and deleted the article before I could add more information . I won't try and create any new articles again for Wikipedia but I do appreciate that you responded and were polite about it

Hey there

You noted on WP:PM that Rate tart and Stoozing referred to the same concept. I merged the two into Stoozing since it had better layout, etc. Its a rough merge though... any feedback on the article or any suggestions to improve it would be much appreciated :)

BatchMaster Software, Inc.

Hi Mike: You recently blocked BatchMaster Software article from being created. I would like to humbly request you to reconsider the deletion. BatchMaster Software is the leader as far as formula/recipe based process manufacturers are concerned. There are many companies listed in the 'List of Software Companies' that are less notable than BSI.

I admit that I am guilty of placing our article on Wikipedia repeatedly, but I was making changes to the article every time based on the comments on the talk page or the primary cause of deletion. I honestly believe that considering the position of BatchMaster ERP in the world of process manufacturing, having an article on BSI is justified. Rahulkhare 13:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mike: I have made major modifications to my proposed article on [BatchMaster Software] with guidance from [Waggers]. He has appreciated my effort. The article developed country

Hello Mike.

Have you got any idea how to cope with Leungli's (i.e. Coloane's) continuous deletion of my three footnotes about Slovenia, Macau, and Cyprus?

e.g. my continuously deleted footnote about Macau - supplies all international sources, as well as chinese sources, but he insists to base the article on a (single) chinese source only, thus deleting all of the other international sources supplied in my footnote, such as the UNCTAD organisation of the UN, as well as the CIA.

A similiar problem exists with my continuously deleted footnotes about Cyprus and Slovenia. Eliko 09:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

this user Eliko has many sockpuupets accounts like Ostiferia, Partigenary, SSnormal, etc which are all newly open since yesterday and I suggest that it is a good idea to permenantly block them all including the one which is Eliko. The users of Leungli and Coloane didn't delete any information provided by CIA or UN. Please refer to all history fromm the article of developed country. 74.12.182.133 12:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mike,

After several weeks working on the Sahaj Marg talk page, I finally made edits and re-ordered things this morning. Sfacets accidentally reverted it and after reading my edits, reverted it back to my edits. Then Shashwat Panday reverted it over and over again. He will not agree to discuss changes. Others have noted the piece needed edits. I'm not sure why you reverted it to his when mine was the edited version (his was a reversion and I merely reverted back to my edits so we'd have a new place to start.

Thanks, Renee --Renee 13:05, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sahaj Marg and Shri Ram Chandra Pages

Dear Mike,

I am writing for advice. After two weeks of careful discussion and consensus building, I re-organized the Sahaj Marg page (and edited some of the up front part) as well as edited a paragraph in the Shri Ram Chandra Page.

For the Sahaj Marg page, Shashwat Pandey has reverted to his originals (with poor English grammar) about 10 times today (I kept thinking it was a computer problem and tried to re-save until I realized he was purposely reverting whenever I posted). Even with minor changes Shashwat does not allow anyone else to make edits without immediately reverting them to his English grammar. Further, he refuses to compromise on any issue and is extremely hostile and personally attacking on the talk page, though I tried to follow Wiki guidelines and warn him about vandalism (I think I did this right).

In any case, if you check his personal discussion page (for Shashwat Pandey) you'll notice it is full of warnings, flagrant violations, and complaints, etc. He does not allow anyone else to give feedback on edits because he reverts them immediately. He refuses to collaborate.

I would like to request that a moratorium is put on him posting anything on Wikipedia, until the rest of the editors can get some agreement on the Sahaj Marg and Shri Ram Chandra pages.

Shashwat Pandey has a long-standing history of flagrant Wiki violations that violate the spirit and intent of Wiki. Please let me know what can be done.

deletion of "altadict" page

Dear Mike,

From the deletion log I understand that you consider the "altadict" entry not notable enough for the "Website" category.

I added that category since altadict is an online dictionary quite similar to the LEO dictionary, already listed under that category.

Please let me know if this is the reason for deleting the page, and please consider the mention above. I intend to post it again, so I need to be sure that this time everything is OK.

Thank you.

Another disillusioned newbie!

Well, you've done it. I will not contribute ever again. Money, or otherwise. I will however continue to get all information I want from Wikipedia. F.U.

I tried to add an entry for Kristi Warner. As far as I can tell, she is notable, she has an album for sale, her tracks are all available on i-tunes. She has a major record producer's endorsement. Is that not enough? Is there anyone besides YOU who makes this decision? Did I just form the article wrong? I am a newbie, give me some feedback to fix it A.H.

You know, when a newbie tries, there should be a little more input than "musician - notability not shown" or whatnot. Like can't you ask for some notability before making my addition completely disappear? There isn't even a place to discuss the deletion. You didn't even bother to contact me to let me know how I could fix it.

That is the way to disillusion a potential good contributor. well once again F.U. A little positive feedback would have gone a long way.

luxtorpeda

Dear Sir

I wasn't born with knowledge on luxtorpedas, so obviously I had to use some sources. Main source was a Polish Wiki article on this subject, plus some other info from other pages. However I created this article on my own, using several texts in the Polish language. If you want to be so strict, please remove all texts on all Wikipedias, as all of them have some sources of different kind.

Fiesta Online

Why did you delete my article? You say "No claim of notability - online RPG". So I am assuming that you are telling me that my article has relatively no significant information about the game. Is this correct? Well let me just say that there are two articles on wikipedia that are based on an online game: GunZ: The Duel Wiki and 9Dragons Wiki. These articles have not been deleted yet. If my article is considered to be deleted, why not these articles too? Why is my Fiesta Online article the only online game article to be considered for deletion when there are other online articles out there that are allowed to be created? I do not get it. What do you want me to do? I want an article about Fiesta Online to be created on wikipedia. Wikipedia is supposed to be an online encyclopedia, right? Well, I'm adding an article to it so that everyone can see what Fiesta Online is all about. I want an explanation to why my article is so conspicous to deletion. It's preposterous. Windrider07 19:57, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, my apologies then. I am just disturbed by the fact that few admins have visited my article and have deleted the content for preposterous reasons. I have good reasons for why I want to create the article. Please look at my Fiesta Online article again for I have put content on it. I have also listed my source. Could article Inchies be reinstated since deletion was while editing and citations in progress?

Howdy there! I submitted an article on Inchies, and questions were made as to whether it was an actual art format and/or form since no "real" articles were written on it. I was in the process of editing the article when - upon reviewing it - I noticed you had gone ahead and deleted it for being "spam." Would you please reconsider allowing its posting and/or reversing the deletion? I have two recent magazine articles to cite in my backing of it, and while I'm new to adding Wikipedia articles, but I truly believe that my article "inchies" would be a valuable resource for other artists.

Thanks so much :-)

Hi, I see you unblocked User:66.199.184.254 (the TOR exit node) per WP:TOR. Apparently there was a change in the page 2 days ago to add the softblock part. Personally I'm a bit concerned that unblocking a tor node is exactly like unblocking an open proxy, since in both cases we are allowing legit users and vandals to edit completely anonymously (our WP:RFCU regulars use both). Do you know if there happened to be a change in the concensus or a discussion to refer myself to? Just spotted another VWG sock from March

Alfa-alibista (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) - performed the same vandalism that Nový nýmand (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) did to Ron Dellums back in March but has yet to be blocked.

In addition, there's another account Chce se mi spát (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) that is blocked but not yet listed on your vandal descripton page. I also suggest that you modify the third specialty description to something like "Vandalism of African-American related pages (such as Mumia Abu-Jamal and Portal:African American/Intro), replacing the subject's image with that of a gorilla.", since the March episode shows that he has clearly moved beyond MAJ to other African-American subjects as well. 68.161.106.223 20:42, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I don't believe CheckUser will yield any meaningful results on Alfa-alibista, as this sock made only two edits, all back in March (which is more than one month before today), so I suggest that you withdraw the CU request on this one. 68.161.106.223 17:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TOR proxies

--Yamla 20:57, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
