Chowder is an American animated television series that debuted on Cartoon Network on November 2, 2007. The show is created by C. H. Greenblatt, of SpongeBob SquarePants and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy fame. The series is set in "Marzipan City" and features a young kid named Chowder, who is Mung Daal's young apprentice chef. Usually during the day, Chowder will perform tasks for Mung Daal while learning how to be a chef, but the problem is that Chowder eats everything in sight, which results in countless misadventures. The show is known for it's combining of hand-drawn animation and computer coloring techniques.

The Characters

Chowder

Chowder is a small and eccentric child. He wants to become a great chef, the problem is he's always hungry and eats any kind of food. Chowder is Mung Daal's cooking apprentice. Chowder is an orphan that lives with Mung Daal and his family. Chowder's pet is Kimchi, who emits clouds of stink. Voiced by Nicky Jones.

Mung Daal

A food inventor and Chowder's master. He is teaching Chowder how to be a chef and also a spoof of. He invents rare food like the "Not Fruit" pronounced as "no fruit". Voiced by Dwight Schultz.

Truffles

Truffles is Mung Daal's wife, and invents rare food for Mung Daal to create. She is Chowder's employer. Voiced by Tara Strong.

Shnitzel

A professional chef who works at Mung Daal's Catering. All he says is "Rada" although the other characters have no problems understanding him. He is like a big brother to Chowder. However Chowder seems to get on his nerves a lot. Voiced by John DiMaggio.

Panini

Panini has a crush on Chowder (who does not return the feelings), who thinks she is Chowder's girlfriend, and lets him know this at every time she can. She is also Ms. Endive's apprentice. It is possible she is an orphan, as she seems to live with Ms. Endive and any possible family so far has not been mentioned.

Ms. Endive

A chef who teaches culinary skill to Panini with strict discipline. She is often unkind, and considers Mung Daal to be her inferior rival. She is tall and pudgy.

Gazpacho

An elephant/woolly mammoth who is a storekeeper, selling strange food and playing pranks on his customers. He could possibly serve as a uncle to Chowder. He has revealed he has never kissed a girl except for his mother. He is possibly the coolest cartoon character ever made. Voiced by Dana Snyder

Marzipan City

The city the show takes place in is actually an amazing place to behold, with varying geographical places. It is based on buildings seen all over the world, and then combined into a melting pot of an island. Outside the City Limits, it can be seen that there is a huge giant that holds up the entire city up on his shoulders. There is a volcano on one part of the city called Mt. Fondoom, where instead of lava, there is a big pot that is filled to the brim with hot fondue. There is also the marketplace, where Gazpacho's shop is seen to be located. Mung Daal's home and catering shop is close by. All of the inhabitants seem to be animal like creatures.
