- SPL team Gretna go into administration
- George Burley appointed new Scotland manager[1]
2007
- Aberdeen been Copenhagen 4-0 at Pittodrie to qualify from the Group Stage of the UEFA Cup
- Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell, 35, collapsed on the pitch during a Scottish league match against Dundee United, and died shortly afterwards.[2]
- Celtic win the SPL title for the 5th time and the Scottish Cup for the 34th time
- Hibernian beat Kilmarnock 5-1 to win the League Cup
2006
- Celtic win SPL title for 4th time and League Cup
- Hearts win Scottish Cup for 7th time beating Gretna 4-2 after extra time
