The Arizona Sting are a member of the National Lacrosse League, a professional sports league in North America, since the 2000-2001 season. They played at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio from 2000 to 2003 as the Columbus Landsharks. On August 28, 2003 it was announced the team was relocating to Glendale, Arizona. The team adopted the name Sting in November 2003 and began play in the Glendale Arena. In 2005 the Sting made it to the league championship game, which they lost 19-13 to the Toronto Rock.
