Simon Davey (born 1 October 1970 in Swansea) is the manager of Barnsley. As a player he was a midfielder at Swansea City, Carlisle United, Preston North End and Darlington. He was appointed full-time manager of Barnsley FC on December 31 2006, after a spell as caretaker manager following Andy Ritchie's dismissal.

As a footballer, his successes including two Division Three titles with Carlisle in 1995 and Preston a year later.

In his first season as Barnsley FC manager, Davey has made some positive changes to the squad such as signing Hungarian striker Istvan Ferenczi and midfielder Grant McCann, as well as securing loan spells for talented defenders Ronnie Wallwork, Lewin Nyatanga and Adam Eckersley, and another top Hungarian striker Peter Rajczi. This has helped in taking the team clear of relegation for the 2006/7 season. Simon is one of the most qualified young coaches in the country, he holds the UEFA C Licence, the UEFA B Licence, the UEFA A Licence and he completed his UEFA Pro Licence in 2005. He also holds the Academy Managers licence and the UEFA Youth Licence.

After 44 games Simon has steered Barnsley towards a second season in the Championship after reaching the 50 point mark with a fine 2-0 success against Crystal Palace
