Yoko Sugimura

Yoko Sugimura (Japanese: 杉村 陽子 Sugimura Yoko, born November 01, 1974 in Nagano, Japan) was a Japanese gravure idol and race queen.

Yoko Suimura began her modeling career as race queen for Kure in 1997, where she teamed up together with Fumika Suzuki. As for Fumika Suzuki, the race queen modeling for Kure gave her career a good start. In 1997 she also was Toyota's event girl at the 32nd Tokyo Motor show In 1998 she appeared as a K1 round girl, at Tokyo Auto salon as event girl for Toyota and appeared in CM's for Takefuji. Instead of JGTC, she was a race queen for Piknik in Formula Nippon this year. She was also featured in internet events in Akihabara during 1998. and in 1999 she released an idol video and photobook and was once again Toyota's event girl at the 33rd Tokyo Motor show.[1]

Unlike Fumika Suzuki, who did not return as a race queen after 1998, Yoko kept on going as a race queen from year 2000 and onwards. For example, in 2000 she was the Regain race queen and in 2001 she promoted Weds sport.[2]

She continued to be very active during the 2000's and appearing at many different events mainly at electronic events, but also as race queen and at Tokyo Motor show and Tokyo Auto salon for companies like au by KDDI, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, APEXi and Toyota. She was also race queen for Honda in road racing.[3]

Accordning to one of her fan sites, Yoko Sugimura retired in late 2006, after nine years as a model.[4]
