Dniproavia is an airline based in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. It operates domestic and international scheduled services and charter flights. Its main base is Dnipropetrovsk International Airport[1].
History
The airline was established and started operations in 1933 as the Dnipropetrovsk Integrated air squad. It was originally part of Aeroflot. On 22 June 1996 the airline became a joint stock company which includes Dnipropetrovsk International Airport. It is wholly owned by the State Property Fund of Ukraine[1]. It has 1061 employees.
Dniproavia announced a loss of just over $6 million for 2006, despite increasing revenues by 17% and carrying 54% more passengers. It blamed the loss on the cancellation of its flights to Germany, which were suspended following a dispute with the German authorities over access to Dnipropetrovsk International Airport (controlled by Dniproavia) by Lufthansa.[2]
