Loara High School is a high school in the Anaheim Union High School District, located in the city of Anaheim in Orange County, California. Loara was established in 1962 and is one of eight comprehensive high schools within the district. The school's name is said to be an amalgamation Laura and Sara, the daughters of an early Anaheim pioneer. The campus consists of about 2,200 students and over 100 faculty members.

The school has recently undergone modernization under Bond Measure Z, which includes two gyms, a science building, and a math building. Loara has an IB program that is currently going through reconstruction also. in 2006, the campus completed an extensive technology improvement plan. This includes the construction of the prototype for "Classroom of the Future", two technologically advacned rooms that were designed to model future prospects.

Famous alumni include

  • folk singer Tim Buckley; his son (and recording artist) Jeff Buckley; Blood, Sweat & Tears bassist,
  • Jim Fielder; 1972 Olympic Silver Medal winner, Dana Schoenfeld;
  • recording artist Stacey Lynn Swain (aka Stacey Q);
  • founder of the band No Doubt, Eric Stefani, and his younger sister, the lead singer of No Doubt, Gwen Stefani. Eric went on to become an animator on the long running series, The Simpsons.
  • Robin Tosawi Marshall Native American Film Consultant Credits include Ron Howard's Alamo and Chuck Norris TV Series Walker Texas Ranger;
  • Augie Nieto, founder of Lifefitness. Augie has recently become a spokesman for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and was featured on the cover of Parade Magazine.

  • CIF-SS Singles Champion(Monica Ortiz was the 1974). In 1979, she was All-American for Arizona State.
