Sainik School Rewa (Madhya Pradesh) is one of the 21 Sainik Schools of India. It is a purely residential school for boys. The medium of instruction is English. Established by Government of India on 20th July, 1962 at the sprawling estate known as Yuvraj Bhawan which belonged to Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo, Yuvraj of former Princely state of Rewa, the main aim of the school is to prepare boys to join the armed forces. Till date, the school has contributed about 400 officers. It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and is a member of Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC).

Mission Statement

Sainik School Rewa aims to prepare boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune and for other walks of life. Character, team spirit, patriotic Outlook and the desire to serve the country with dedication are the qualities promoted by the school.

Campus

Sainik School Rewa is located in Rewa, the land of white tigers in the Indian state Madhya Pradesh. The campus spreads across 274 acres of land, with all the facilities for the students. The climate of Rewa is dry in summer and quite cold in winters. Rewa is located on the AllahabadBombay highway at a distance of 550 Kms from Bhopal, 235 Kms from Jabalpur and 578 kms from Raipur. It is accessible by road and rail from Satna (54 kms). The school is 2 kms from Rewa Bus stand and 6 kms away from Rewa Railway Station. Direct trains are available from Bhopal, Jabalpur, Allahabad & New Delhi.

Main Building

The main building houses the administrative office and the office of the Principal, Head Master and Registrar of the school. It has numerous facilities such as well furnished class-rooms for all the students from class VI to XII, an IT centre with twenty computers, well equipped Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Languages), Auditorium, Library, Art Room, Audio-Visual Room, Wood, Metal and Electrical Workshop.

Hostel Blocks

There are 5 senior and 3 junior hostels for the students which accommodate all the 500+ students studying in the school. The senior hostels have been named Betwa, Chambal, Narmada, Satpura and Vindhya named after famous rivers and mountains of Madhya Pradesh and junior hostels have been named Abhimanyu, Bharat and Luv-Kush after ancient Indian mythological heroes. The hostels have study, recreation, TV, table tennis rooms and a barber. Each house has House Master and Superintendent to look after everyone.

Cadets Mess

The campus has a central mess which caters the members in one sitting. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available. The menu makes sure students maintain a balanced diet.

Admissions

Admissions are given in Class VI, Class IX and Class XI. Admission for classes VI and IX is carried out on the basis of an entrance exam usually held on First Sunday of January every year. An interview is conducted at Sainik School Rewa and a Medical Exam at Military Hospital Jabalpur. Admission for class XI is carried out on the basis of the class X results of same year, interview and medical exam. Only science stream is available in the school.

N.C.C.

N.C.C. is an integral part of students' life in Sainik School Rewa. The School has an Independent Company of Junior and Senior Division N.C.C. as integral part. N.C.C. unit of school comprises all the three wings of defense services i.e. the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Sports and Games

Everyday there is physical training at 5:30 am in the morning, which is under the guidence of trained Army instructors. Students can play the games of their choice in the evening at 4:30 pm, able to choose from football, basketball, hockey, volley ball. There is also a gym facility, swimming pool, horse stable and snooker table.
