WarioWare: Smooth Moves is the latest in the WarioWare series of games, coming out for the Wii. It was first revealed in May 2006, via a TIME magazine article.[1] The game was shown in video form at Nintendo's 2006 Pre-E3 Press Conference, and playable in a demo at Nintendo's E3 booth that year. In an interview, WarioWare series director Goro Abe indicated that he thinks Smooth Moves will be released within 90 days of the Wii console launch, "as Nintendo announced."[2]

Control

Sticking to the traditional WarioWare style of play, players can use the unique abilities of the Wii Remote to chop barrels, turn levers, run races and more. The many orientations that one can hold the Wii remote will be in the gameplay, making it more difficult than ever before. While its predecessors traditionally had a single word or phrase as a hint for the next microgame, Smooth Moves will have a picture showing how you hold the remote in the microgame. This includes turning it on its side and pumping it up and down to inflate a balloon, swinging it in your arms to make a man run in a race, making a slashing motion to cut a barrel, turning it on its side and turn it in circles to turn a crank and placing it on the hips and wiggle to make a character use a hula-hoop.[3]

Characters

It is unknown what their game types will be. While no information has been reported about them, artwork of Wario, Mona, and Ashley has been released. Presumably, Wario will host both a collection of introductory games as well as a collection of harder games with himself self-inserted in various ways, as with the other WarioWare games. While artwork of 9-Volt has yet to be relased, Goro Abe has confirmed that 9-Volt will host his usual set of Classic Nintendo themed micro-games.[4] Nintendo has said that about 200 microgames will be included in the final game.[5]
