Hyundai Department Store Group
Hyundai Department Store Group, together with Lotte Department Store and Shinsegae, is one of the three major department store chains in South Korea. It has 14 locations and more than $340 million in annual sales. In addition to department stores, the Group operates a range of service industry businesses. Subsidiary businesses include Hyundai Home Shopping and Hotel Hyundai.
The company began as KeumKang Development Industrial Co., Ltd., established in 1971. It opened its first store in Ulsan in 1977. The flagship store, in the affluent Seoul neighborhood of Apgujeong, was opened in 1985.
