Sergio Peter (born October 12, 1986 in Ludwigshafen, Germany) is a professional footballer currently playing for Blackburn Rovers in the English Premiership. Peter came through the Youth Academy at the club and signed a professional contract on July 7, 2005.

The name of his father is Peter Wagner and his mother´s name is Simone Peter. His surname is the name of his mother because of a divorce.

Playing predominantly as a left midfielder, Peter had impressed in the Rovers Reserves and convinced Blackburn manager Mark Hughes to give him a try in the first team. On January 7, 2006, Hughes put Peter into the team to play Queen's Park Rangers in the FA Cup Third Round, which Blackburn won 3-0. Peter performed excellently, he won Man of the Match with an assist for all three goals.

Peter is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects at the club along with Joe Garner.

He is playing for the German Under 19 national team.
