(1893) Jakoba is an asteroid of the main belt , which the Swiss astronomers on October 20, 1971 Paul Wild , from zimmerwald observatory of the University of Bern in was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the Swiss geologist and grandfather of the discoverer, Jakob Oberholzer (1862–1939).
