(1974) Caupolican ( 1968 OE ) is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 July 1968 by the astronomer Carlos Torres and S. Cofre in Cerro El Roble Observatory was discovered.
designation
The asteroid was named after Caupolicán , a Mapuche war chief in the Arauco War .
