Carlos Torres (* 1929 ; † 2011 ) was an astronomer at the University of Chile . Between 1968 and 1982 he discovered numerous asteroids himself and with others in the Cerro El Roble Observatory , which is located at the University of Chile. In the dedication of the asteroid (1769) Carlos Torres he is probably as Carlos Torres R. called.
