(2741) Valdivia is a main belt asteroid discovered by Carlos Torres and Sergio Barros at the Cerro El Roble Observatory on December 1, 1975. It was named after the Spanish conquistador Pedro de Valdivia . Observations from the Carbuncle Hill Observatory, Rhode Island , in 2003, determined the period of rotation to be 4096 ± 0.001 hours and the fluctuation in brightness to 0.40 ± 0.03 mag.
