Ángel Flores (born October 2, 1883 in San Pedro, Culiacán , Sinaloa ; † March 31, 1926 in Culiacán, Sinaloa) was a Mexican general who won some decisive battles in the Mexican Revolution , and a politician who was governor from 1920 to 1924 from Sinaloa was.

Life

Four years before General Flores was elected governor of his home state Sinaloa, he ran for this post, but was defeated by Ramón Fuente Iturbe . Disappointed about this unhappy election result, he left Sinaloa and sought refuge in Navojoa . Soon afterwards in the local state of Sonora the plan of Agua Prieta grew, the removal from office of Mexican President Venustiano Carranza sought, supported Flores this demand and switched again active in politics. He returned to Sinaloa and ran again for the post of governor, which he received this time.

Supported by conservative forces, he tried to become president in 1924 , but was defeated by his opponent Plutarco Elías Calles . Thereupon Flores withdrew from political life and died on March 31, 1926 at the age of only 42 years.
