Outer inlet gate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The outer inlet gate was a city gate on the southeastern edge of the old town of Munich .

It was built in 1633 to the side of the (inner) inlet gate about 100 m to the south and served as a passage for the ramparts . From there, the path led through the walled roof along the Stadtgrabenbach to the bridge in front of the inlet gate.

The street name " Am Einlaß " and a memorial plaque on house no. 1 on this street with the following text reminds of the outer inlet gate : "Here stood the outer inlet gate, built in 1633, demolished in 1844".
