Åshild Bruun-Gundersen (born November 26, 1986 in Hisøy , Arendal municipality ) is a Norwegian politician of the right-wing Fremskrittspartiet (FrP). She has been a member of the Storting since 2017 .

Life

After finishing school, Bruun-Gundersen began studying at the University of Agder in 2006 . In 2010 she graduated as an engineer. Then she started working for the Norwegian building authority Statens Vegvesen . From 2016 to 2017 she was finally employed as an engineer at the state road construction company Nye Veier .

Bruun-Gundersen was a member of the Arendal City Council from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2019 . In the legislative period between 2015 and 2019, she was also a member of the Fylkesting of the then Aust-Agder province .

In the 2009 parliamentary elections , Bruun-Gundersen missed entry into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting . She then became a member of the Varara , i.e. a substitute member. After all, she moved into parliament for the first time in the 2017 general election, where she represents the Aust-Agder constituency. Initially, she was a member of the Education and Research Committee until September 2018, but switched to the Health and Welfare Committee.

Positions

In May 2020, Bruun-Gundersen, as her party's health policy spokeswoman, was one of the leading proponents of a new biotechnology law. This should legalize egg donation and allow single women to become pregnant through artificial insemination . The bill also included the legalization of non-invasive prenatal tests . The law was finally passed by the Storting on May 26, 2020.
