Edith Lefel

Édith Lefel (born November 1963 in Cayenne , French Guiana , † January 20, 2003 in Dreux , France ) was a French Zouk singer.

Edith Lefel's mother was Guiana and her father came from the island of Martinique . She spent the first three years of her life in French Guiana until she and her parents moved to Martinique in 1966, where she continued to grow up. At the age of 14 she came to France in the Paris region . Her career began in 1984 with a tour of the Caribbean . In 1987 she worked with the Malavoi group , which she invited to the Zénith concert hall . In 1988 she recorded her first album La Klé , followed by the second in 1992.

Édith Lefel was in a relationship with the singer, author and composer Ronald Rubinel and had two children with him. Rubinel wrote numerous songs for her.

Lefel died in January 2003. She was buried in Section 45 of the Père-Lachaise Cemetery in Paris .
