Paul Joseph Émile Rumeau (born December 23, 1878 in Port Said , Egypt , † July 8, 1943 ) was a French sports marksman .

successes

Émile Rumeau took part in the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 and in Paris in 1924 . In 1920 he competed in six disciplines and won the silver medal in the prone position with the army rifle in the team competition alongside Achille Paroche , André Parmentier , Léon Johnson and Georges Roes . In four other disciplines he was among the top five in the ranking. Four years later, he and Georges Roes, Paul Colas , Albert Courquin and Pierre Hardy scored 646 points in the team competition with the free rifle, which was held over distances of 400 m, 600 m and 800 m, winning behind the US -american and silver medal ahead of the Haitian team. Rumeau was the team's best shooter with 134 points.

At World Championships in Reims in 1924, Roes won the bronze medal with the team in the three-position battle with the free rifle.
