Albert Courquin (born March 30, 1875 in Bourbourg-Campagne , † March 24, 1953 in Albi ) was a French sports shooter .

successes

Albert Courquin took part in the Olympic Games in London in 1908 and in Paris in 1924 . In 1908, together with Eugène Balme , André Parmentier , Léon Johnson , Maurice Lecoq and Raoul de Boigne, he won the bronze medal behind Norway and Sweden with the free rifle in the three-position battle. He finished the team competition with the army rifle over six distances in fourth place. 16 years later he came together with Georges Roes , Paul Colas , Émile Rumeau and Pierre Hardy in the team competition with the free rifle, which was held over the distances of 400 m, 600 m and 800 m, on 646 points and won behind the US -american and silver medal ahead of the Haitian team. Courquin was the team's second best shooter with 131 points. In the individual competition for the horizontal attack with the free rifle, he finished sixth.

Courquin won a total of 14 medals at world championships . He achieved his greatest success in Milan in 1906 when he became world champion with the free rifle in a standing position. In 1908 he won the silver medal in this discipline in Vienna and the bronze medal in Camp Perry in 1913 . In the prone position, he became vice world champion in Viborg in 1914 . In team competitions he was very successful for a long time, especially with the free rifle in three-position combat. Between 1905 and 1914 he won seven silver and three bronze medals with the team.
