Émilienne Poumirol

Émilienne Poumirol (born July 25, 1950 in Varilhes , Département Ariège ) is a French politician . She has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

Poumirol joined the Parti socialiste in 1973 . In 1989 she was elected mayor of the municipality of Donneville in the Haute-Garonne department , where she had worked as a doctor since 1977. In the 2012 parliamentary elections , she ran as deputy to Kader Arif in the tenth constituency of the Haute-Garonne department. Arif was elected but had to surrender his mandate to Poumirol in July 2012 after his appointment as minister.
