Éric Beugnot (born March 22,  1955 in Cliron ) is a retired French basketball player .

career

The brother of Gregor Beugnot and son of Jean-Paul Beugnot played in France's top league from 1972 to 1984 in Le Mans . He was national champion with the team three times (1978, 1979, 1982). The two-meter-tall winger made a significant contribution to these titles: in the 1977/78 season he scored an average of 14, 1978/79 19.6 and 1981/82 16.1 points per encounter. Beugnot's best performance was an average of 20.8 per match during the game year 1979/80. Between 1978 and 1984 his brother Gregor was his teammate.

After leaving Le Mans, he worked for AS Monaco (1984 to 1986), ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne  (1986 to 1989) and CRO Lyon (1990 to 1992). He came to 212 caps for France. Beugnot took part in the 1984 Summer Olympics as well as in the 1986 World Championships and the European Championship finals in 1977, 1979, 1981, 1983 and 1987. At the 1984 Olympics, he was the third best French scorer with a total of 79 points, only surpassed by Philip Szanyiel and Hervé Dubuisson .

In 1991 Beugnot took over the managerial position at the first division club PSG-Racing , from 1995 he was General Director of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, where his brother Gregor was the coach at that time.
