Gregor Beugnot (born October 7, 1957 in Cliron ) is a French basketball coach and former player.

His father Jean-Paul was also a French national player, as was his brother Éric .

After stints in Reims (1976/77) and Asnières (1977/78), he moved to SCM Le Mans in 1978 , where he became his brother Eric's team-mate. In 1979 the two brothers became French champions together. In 1982 Beugnot was again champion with Le Mans and scored the winning free throws in the decisive game shortly before the end. The development player stayed at Le Mans until 1984. In 1984 he joined CSP Limoges , with the team he won the French championship in 1985, 1988 and 1989 as well as the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1988 .

As a member of France's national team, he took part in the Olympic Games in 1984 and at the European Championships in 1989, with 11.4 points per match, he was the third best scorer behind Stéphane Ostrowski and Richard Dacoury . He played 54 caps for his country.

Trainer

In 1989 Beugnot took over the position of player- coach at Paris Racing Basket , from 1990 he was exclusively a coach and supervised racing until 1992.

From 1992 he was the coach of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne . With ASVEL he was French cup winner in 1996, 1997 and 2001 and French runner-up in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001. In the 1996/97 season he reached the semi-finals in the European Cup with ASVEL , where they were defeated by FC Barcelona . In the game year (2001/02) after Beugnot's departure from Lyon-Villeurbanne, ASVEL became French champions after the unsuccessful attempts under Bogdan Tanjević .

In February 2002 Beugnot was coach of the Italian first division club Metis Varese . There he remained in office until March 2003. From 2003 to 2013 he coached Élan Sportif Chalonnais . He led the team in 2011 and 2012 to win the French cup competition. 2012 Beugnot reached the final of the European Cup competition EuroChallenge with Élan Chalon , but lost there against Besiktas Istanbul .

Between 2013 and 2015, Beugnot was the coach of Paris-Levallois . In May 2016, he took over the coaching position at the second division club JL Bourg-en-Bresse until the end of the 2015/16 season. At the end of November 2016, he began his service as coach of the first division club SLUC Nancy . He was relegated to the second division with Nancy in the spring of 2017. His tenure there ended at the beginning of June 2018 after the resurgence was missed.
