Life

Jeaurat was a student of Nicolas Vleughels , who took him to Rome in 1724. He began with mythological images, but later turned mainly to contemporary moral images . In the pictures he described the lively Parisian streetscape of the 18th century. Some of his still lifes are reminiscent of Jean Siméon Chardin . He created large history paintings, religious paintings and some portraits. Jeaurat is represented with his works in many French museums, also in Oxford, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Dublin, here mainly with chalk drawings.
