Étienne Mourrut (born December 4, 1939 in Le Grau-du-Roi , † October 19, 2014 ) was a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2012 .

Mourrut, who worked as a merchant, was elected mayor of his hometown Le Grau-du-Roi in 1983. In 1985 he moved to the General Council of the Gard department , to which he was a member until 2002. In the following year he was also elected to the regional council, of which he remained until 1992. In 2002 he ran for the UMP in the parliamentary elections and entered the National Assembly. In 2007 he was re-elected. In the 2012 elections , he joined again. There he reached only third place in the first round with 23.9%, behind right-wing extremist Gilbert Collard and socialist Katy Guyot . In the second round he got only 15.6% of the vote and lost his mandate to Collard, who reached 42.8%.
