Ödwang is a village and part of the municipality of Osterzell in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu .
geography
Ödwang is about four kilometers south of Osterzell in the valley of the Hühnerbach .
The Sachsenrieder forest extends directly to the east .
history
The Roman road from Kempten to Epfach ran through Ödwang .
The village was founded around 800. Ödwang was initially free of fiefs, only the mill in the village belonged to the Kempten monastery .
Ödwang probably came to the Kemnat rule in the middle of the 14th century.
Attractions
The Catholic Chapel of All Saints from 1660 is located in Ödwang. It was built by Ödwang landlord Michael Zwick as a thank you for being spared the plague.
