Stocken is a part of the municipality of Osterzell in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu .

geography

The village of Stocken is located about one kilometer southeast of Osterzell on the eastern slope of the Hühnerbachtal . The village stretches along the state road St2014.

The Sachsenrieder forest extends directly to the east

history

Stocken was first settled in the 16th century . The name Stocken is derived from Stocko (tree stump).

Barley , spelled and oats were then grown above the village near Mähder .

Attractions

The Catholic chapel of St. Anthony of Padua from 1859 is located in Stocken.
