The Austrian handball championship 1964/65 was organized by the Austrian Handball Federation and played in field handball. The men's championship was a duel between newly promoted Rapid and defending champion ATSV Linz, which was only decided on the last day of the match in a direct encounter. Thanks to a splendid performance by Josef Steffelbauer, who threw 14 goals in the 21:14 victory, Linz was able to become Austrian handball champions for the ninth time.
