Austrian Association of Restorers

The Austrian Association of Restorers ( ÖRV ) is the only nationally and internationally recognized association of qualified restorers in Austria.

The professional association was founded in 1985.

Agendas

The association strives for quality assurance and compliance with international standards, with a jury system also for restorers who have unofficial training in special fields, because it is at the University of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts , the two educational institutions for commercial Restorers, no degree there.
In addition, the association also endeavors to "expand the range of academic courses to include more subject areas" and "improve the training situation" and - like every professional association - to provide further training (courses, seminars), specialist publications , public relations and cooperation with monument protection authorities and other institutions.

The association is Austria's member of the European Confederation of Conservator Restorers 'Organizations  (ECCO) in Brussels, the umbrella organization of the European restorers' associations.
