Gløersen made his World Cup debut in March 2009 at the sprint in Trondheim , which he finished 54th. He reached his only World Cup point with rank 30 in his second World Cup appearance in March 2010 at the sprint in Oslo .
In the Scandinavian Cup he won a sprint in the Lygna Skisenter in December 2008 and finished second in the sprints in Jõulumäe in February 2010 and Madona in February 2011. In the 15 km pursuit race in the classic technique in Jõulumäe in February 2010, he came in third place. In the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup he reached fourth place in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons and was third in 2010/11 .
