NGC 1534 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Netz in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 231 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 1529 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 26, 1834 .
