NGC 1552 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble-type S0 / a in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is an estimated 211 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on January 1, 1786 .
