NGC 1530 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Giraffe in the northern sky. It is around 117 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 155,000 light years .
The galaxy was discovered by the astronomer Wilhelm Tempel in 1876 with an Amici refractor with a 283 mm aperture.
