NGC 1507 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBm with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 36 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on January 6, 1785 .
