NGC 1483 is a spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Horologium in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 44 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years across . Together with five other galaxies, it is a member of the NGC 1493 group ( LGG 106 ).
The object was discovered by James Dunlop on September 2, 1826 .
