NGC 1433 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Pendulum Clock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 41 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter. This object is classified as a Seyfert galaxy , so it is an active galaxy whose supermassive black hole accretes a large mass of matter in the center and emits strong radiation over large parts of the electromagnetic spectrum .
The galaxy IC 1984 is located in the same area of the sky .
The type IIP supernova SN 1985P was observed here.
The object was discovered on September 28, 1826 by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop . using a 18.7-inch - telescope discovered.
