NGC 1425 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is an estimated 62 million light-years away from the Milky Way , about 115,000 light-years in diameter, and is considered a member of the Fornax Galaxy Cluster .
The object was discovered on October 9, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
