NGC 1510 is a lens-shaped galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pendulum Clock (Horologium) in the southern sky . It is around 34 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 40,000 light years . Together with its much larger neighbor NGC 1512 , it forms an interacting pair , the two are about 70,000 light years. separated from each other.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 4, 1836 .
