NGC 1550 = NGC 1551 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Taurus on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 164 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is the brightest member of the NGC 1550 group ( LGG 113 ).
The galaxies IC 363 , IC 364 , IC 365 , IC 366 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 8, 1785 .
