NGC 1558 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Gravestones in the southern sky . It is around 195 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 185,000 light years .
The object was discovered on December 14, 1835 by John Herschel .
