NGC 1575 = NGC 1577 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB? in the constellation Eridanus south of the celestial equator . It is an estimated 423 million light years from the Milky Way and about 185,000 light years in diameter . In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 370 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on November 10, 1885 .
