NGC 1595 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E3 in the constellation Caelum the southern sky . It is estimated to be 207 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 80,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 1598 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 3, 1837 .
