NGC 1613 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 198 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light-years across .
The galaxies NGC 1607 , NGC 1609 , NGC 1611 , NGC 1612 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on December 21, 1881 .
