NGC 1633 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Taurus. It is estimated to be 221 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 1634 , it forms the isolated and gravitationally bound galaxy pair KPG 101 or Holm 79 .

The Type Ia supernova SN 2010kg was observed here.

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on December 9, 1798 .
