NGC 1563 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is an estimated 413 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1561 , NGC 1564 , NGC 1565 , IC 2063 .
The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on November 12, 1885 .
