LEDA / PGC 14779 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Taurus on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 148 million light years from the Milky Way and is considered a member of the NGC 1550 group ( LGG 113 ).

The Type Ia supernova SN 2009ab was observed here.
