The Mohamed Ghannouchi II government was the “Government of National Unity” in Tunisia , which was formed on January 17, 2011. This happened in the wake of the revolution in Tunisia 2010/2011 which began in December 2010.

She was replaced on March 7, 2011 by the Essebsi cabinet .

Unlike the previous government, the Ministry of Communications was abolished. The Ministers for National Defense, Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Finance kept their areas of responsibility.

Minister of the Opposition

On January 18, 2011, the three ministers of the Union Générale Tunisienne du Travail (UGTT) Houssine Dimassi , Abdeljelil Bédoui and Anouar Ben Gueddour resigned together.

On the same day, Mustafa Ben Jaafar also resigned from the Forum démocratique pour le travail et les libertés (FDTL).

Members of the RCD

Following the various demands that followed the formation of this government, Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi and the interim President Fouad Mebazaa resigned their membership in the Constitutional Democratic Collection (RCD). On January 20, all remaining ministers in the RCD followed suit. On the same day, one of them, Zuhair M'dhaffer, in charge of administrative reform, also resigned from his ministerial post.
