The Banque Centrale de Tunisie is the central bank of Tunisia . The bank is in Tunis and its governor is Chedly Ayari .

history

The Tunisian Central Bank was founded two years after the state gained independence. On September 19, 1958 , Law No. 58-90 on the Establishment and Organization of the BCT came into force. On October 18, Law No. 58-109 on the introduction of the Tunisian dinar and replacement of the Tunisian franc came into force. The two laws took effect on November 3rd .

Today the BCT has twelve subsidiary banks.
